Prof. Didilia Ileana Mendoza-Castillo
Prof. Didilia Ileana Mendoza-Castillo has been a faculty member at the Instituto Tecnologico de Aguascalientes since 2014. Dr. Mendoza-Castillo has done research stays at National Accelerator Laboratory from Stanford University (USA, 2009), Laboratory of Advanced Materials from Universidad de Alicante (Spain, 2014), Water Research Institute of the Italian National Research Council (Italy, 2019), TEES Gas and Fuels Research Center from Texas A&M University (USA, 2019), Pavol Jozef Šafárik University (Slovak Republic, 2022) and Lorraine University (France, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024). She is the coauthor of 85 articles in JCR journals (ORCID ID: 0000-0002-8047-9116) and 7 articles in peer-reviewed journals (H-index: 30, Citations: 2678), 1 co-edited book, 10 book chapters, 3 patent applications and more than 150 presentations in national and international congresses. Her research interests include the removal of priority pollutants (e.g., heavy metals, dyes, fluoride, arsenic, mercury, and antibiotics) in the liquid phase, the synthesis of organometallic and carbon-based adsorbents, and the design, optimization, and modeling of adsorption processes. She is an Academic Editor of the International Journal of Analytical Chemistry, a regular reviewer of several JCR journals, and a reviewer of projects and calls of Mexican and Peruvian Institutions. Dr. Didilia has contributed to the formation of 29 bachelor’s degree students, 8 Master students and 3 PhD. students. She has supervised 1 postdoctoral stay and 12 graduate theses. She has performed teaching activities at the undergraduate and graduate levels and has also been involved in several research projects that have obtained funding from the Mexican Government and the European Union. She has been responsible of 3 research grants from Mexican government.
